The question as to whether a male vocal coach can teach a female singer or vice versa is a reasonable question to ask. But can they, and more importantly, should they?
The key thing to remember when choosing your next singing teacher is to search for a teacher who isn’t constrained in their teaching to simple monkey see, monkey do instruction. Find a teacher who brings an ever-growing wealth of knowledge about the voice and you’ll have found a keeper, regardless of whether they are male or female.
